Vagabonds Guild Ethics

If you join us, please bear in mind the Guild reputation at all times. You have our tag above your head and by that You represent this guild.

Manners and politeness to other guild members is a must. People might say things you don't agree with, or might do things you don't like. If this is a serious problem talk to an officer in private but don't cause trouble in guild channel. We do want to have fun while playing WoW, so people will joke and mess around; sometimes jokes can get out of hand. If you feel this is the case, have quiet words with the person(s) involved and try to sort it out reasonably. If this doesn't work, then again, talk to an officer.

This day to day running of the guild is done by the Officers. This is how it works. When we require opinions on issues we will ask the members, which we do regularly. We do not mean this generally, but anything affecting the guild as a whole. This is to enable the guild to stay firm. If everyone has a say in everything, then we will not be able to reach decisions and progress. Any major and radical changes to guild policy are done via a guild vote in the forum.

Applying

The first step to becoming a Vagabond is to read these rules. You may then apply on our 'Recruitment' Forum.

The guild will then discuss your application, and consult with officers. Should we decide that we will benefit from your membership then you will be contacted by an officer in game to arrange a trial.

If you are applying to be a social member of the guild please bear in mind that this isn't a shortcut to becoming a full raiding member, also social members must have real life or long term in game friends with in the guild to be considered. If you are a social member in Vagabonds and decide that you wish to start raiding you will then have to apply to become a raiding member and will be governed by the same criteria as a new applicant.

We expect that all applicants are 18 years of age. However we may make exceptions to this rule IF we consider it to be to the benefit of the guild.

Trial Period

Once you have been contacted in game we may arrange for you to accompany us to an instance, or may invite you directly to a trial with us.. During your trial you will be treated like a member, and expected to perform to a standard comparable with our current members. The trial is not a longlasting period, as other guilds, as we are a casual raiding guild, and do not need the heavy requirements. As long as you perform well, you can always learn more. The main thing is to have fun!

During this period you are as mentioned treated like a member, you can need on loot, and after some while, you can be promoted to member. If we feel that you are not ready to raid yet, we might give you the option of joining the guild as social, as long as you have behaved well in your trialist-period.

In the guild you can only have one main character and we wish that you focus your efforts on this character, however we know that it can get boring, so we do allow alts in the guild for raiding and social members. We have a maximum of two characters in the guild, since the guild can be filled with alts that are rarely used.

Other people regularly playing your character or alt in the guild without the prior agreement of the officers is not acceptable. This is because those people are playing with our tag over their head, and we need to know who they are and be assured of their behavior. It is NEVER acceptable for a mate to play your character in a raid, unless both you and the mate playing is IRL or long-time friends of one of the officers.

Guild Rules

Ground Rules:

You must have a level 80 to join with an alt. This is not a leveling guild, nor a pure social guild. We do raid, and we do prioritize the characters that are able to raid.

You must be able to demonstrate competence in your class.

You must be a Main; we do not accept alts from other servers or guilds.

You must have read the guild rules and be willing to accept and follow them.

Raid Rules:

We raid 3 days a week primarily, but we may, if people are up to it, put in an extra raid on an off-day.

Should you sign up via the in game group calendar for a raid you are asked to be online approximately 30 minutes prior to the start of the raid, as this is when the raid group will be formed. If you are signed you MUST be online and ready 15 minutes before the raid starts, unless other arrangements have been agreed with an officer. Failure to do this could result in losing your place in the raid, however good your excuse.

Please don't be offended if you aren't invited, there are times when the good of the raid requires that some people aren't taken. We will try to invite people in a way that ensures everyone gets a fair turn. When the raid group is set up, the main rule is "First come, first served". We will always (when there are) have at least one trialist in our raiding group. This is because you are on trial, and then you must show us what you got. We can't let you stay on the sideline (not raiding) when making a decision about your performance.

If you can't raid, please do NOT sign up in the calendar. If you sign up, and can't sign off, please leave a message in the forums, so we know why you can't attend. If you at the same time are online during the raiding hours... not a good signactually!

If you can't come to the Wednesday raid, but are available on the next raiding day, you can still sign up and join, even if we got progression. And, if you are signed up, do NOT pug the same raid. As above, action will be taken.

Raid Attitude & Behavior:

When raiding with Vagabonds, the main rule is have fun! Having a dead serious guild stuck on a boss, is no fun. Wiping is fun, you learn from it, and you can improve.

Greed and selfishness are not welcome on raids or in the guild. Examples of this are bidding on an item that would clearly benefit someone else a huge deal more, or pulling some aggro into the raid rather than dying on the spot. Logging out because you didn't get an item is a big no also.

Every single character has a person behind the screen, and it's important that remember you are playing and talking to real people. You should not use a monitor and the Internet to be rude and in anyway bully other people. Please think what you say to people before you type comments. There is a thin line between humor and rudeness at times.

Raid Discipline:

If you have signed up to a raid you are expected to arrive having done suitable raid preparation.
The minimum raid prep you should have make is as follows: Flasks. We have alchemists in our guild. Have enough for three hours raiding atleast. Pots is also important, mana if class-specific, and health. Healthstones will be given by the warlock(s), food will be given by the mage(s). This is for the greater good, so you can use more money on flasks and pots instead of food and water.

You are expected to be the best possible raiding spec to do your job in the raid. No PVP-spec, no untested/unproven specs in raids (unless this has been agreed by RL).

Raids will begin as close to the listed starting time as possible. Once the Raid Leader has arranged groups, they will call for buffs to begin. At this point, usually various tasks will be assigned to people; Loot Master will be assigned, someone else will be asked to take charge of summoning, questions, queries and comments will be taken by another, etc.

When we are gathering up for a raid, please stay together at the safest point of the gathering spot, and be patient. Pulling some 50k elites are not fun when we are summoning!

If You are in a hurry and wants to move on without the RL giving the go... don't sign for raid if You don't have the time to raid. If You keep nagging about moving onwards and obviously are in a hurry... a warning will be given. More warnings will result in being removed from the raid.

Once the raid begins, do not run off around the zone, do not stray away from the Raid group and do not go AFK without approval.

Breaks will be on regular bases and we make sure we take them. Being significantly late back from an AFK break, going AFK without approval or D/C-ing on a regular basis could also result in removal from the raid. The same applies to coming to raids unrepaired, or without enough pots/flasks/buffs.

Raids are not a democracy. If RL has decided to do a specific tactic, that is the way we do it! If you think something is wrong do it anyway, and then bring it up with the appropriate persons (and not on TS). If you get asked to jump into lava... jump and complain later, this is a game not real life (I'm pretty sure You will not die iRL because You die ingame.)

The main tank is the one leading the way if nothing else has been said; therefore never move ahead without him. Always make sure you are safely behind the tanks to avoid unnecessary pulls or deaths
During boss fights however you must NEVER release until the raid leader tells you to, or else you might miss the loot if the boss goes down.

About making suggestions during raids: Whilst we do consider all different tactics, read guides and talk to other players, changing tactics every fight won't get us the kill, we need to practice the tactics or it won't work. If you have a way to alter the tactics or a suggestion of a new way to do something please don't shout it out on TeamSpeak, tell it to the raid leader or an officer in a whisper, as complicated tactics are made harder if you're talking about doing something different. Also, please don't suggest tactics with the reasoning "my friend in the guild 'Zomgwe'vekilledeverything' does it that way" - just because it works for them doesn't mean it'll work for us.

Raid Talk & Chat:

Whilst on a raid you MUST be on TeamSpeak. The TS is up at all times, be sure to check it works, ask someone in the guild to check if they hear you, and you hear them. Do not start with this at raiding time. This will delay the raid, and probably piss of 9 other people, and the officers.

NO POINTING FINGERS! If someone does something very wrong during fights, keep it to Yourself unless RL asks during debriefing.

Voiceactivation is only allowed by RL.

Do not post Damage Meter reports in /raid or /g, this is unwanted spam!

Loot

We run with Master Looter on all raids, no use of DKP.

Member: MS roll, OS roll if none has rolled for MS
Trialist: MS roll. OS roll is not accepted, you are here to show your skills in your class and spec, nothing else. If you get approved as member, you can start rolling for OS
Alt: Can roll for items if no members/trialists roll for the item.

Required Mods

You are required to have the following UI mods installed and turned on during raids. Failure to do this may result in you being removed from the raid.
Threat-meter - Omen, Skada. Anything that shows you when to chill out on the DPS
TeamSpeak - tactics, assignments and other info is ONLY given on TeamSpeak.
Deadly Boss Mods or Bigwigs. Check that this works before raid!
Decursive – If class specific
Pallypower – If a paladin

There is a lot to take in regarding our raids, but please do take your time to read through it all, as it will be quite obvious to us those people who have not. If there is anything in the above that you do not understand, please feel free to speak to an officer in game.
